Steve Cantwell won the final WEC light heavyweight title in 2008. Four years later, at 25, injuries and a losing streak ended his fighting career and he walked away from the sport completely. What he walked toward was a hobby he picked up as a kid in Pahrump, Nevada. Growing things.

Today he runs Green Life Productions, one of the most respected cannabis cultivation operations in Nevada, alongside Green Life Produce, a no till vegetable and microgreens farm serving his hometown. Both run on the same foundation: living soil, the soil food web, and permaculture principles applied at commercial scale. No synthetic fertilizers. No pesticides. No fungicides. He was growing this way in raised beds under LEDs before most of the industry knew it was possible, and it gave him a real market advantage while everyone else waited on testing and remediation.
